'Willing Willie' hosts Willie Revillame and Shalani Soledad: Future lovers?
MANILA, Philippines - Controversial TV host Willie Revillame is courting his “Willing Willie” co-host Shalani Soledad, or so says her relative.
In a text message sent to PEP, Baby Soledad, an aunt of the presidential ex-girlfriend confirmed the rumor saying, "Yes, nanl2gaw."
"Kahit naman sa harap namin, e, nanliligaw siya [Revillame]," she added.
Though she denied that her niece and Revillame are already sweethearts, Soledad eagerly confirmed a report that first appeared from another local newspaper over the weekend, detailing a supposed “date” that happened on board Revillame’s yacht.
According to Soledad she, together with her husband, Ramon, was with Revillame and her niece during that date.
"Ang tagal na nung ano na yun, sa yacht na yun. Siguro mga ano pa lang yun, mga second week niya [Shalani] sa ‘Willing Willie.’ Sunday ‘yun, Sunday," said she.
Soledad also shared that Revillame is now a constant visitor at their house, where her niece still lives.
"Minsan, after the show, umuuwi sila. Dito 'yun tumutuloy."
Although she is taking a “hands off” stance concerning Revillame and Soledad’s seemingly blossoming relationship, she is not eager to believe that her niece is ready for a new love.
"Ay, hindi pa siguro," she said.
"Pero, actually, hindi namin talaga napag-uusapan yung mga ganun [relationship]. Hindi naman niya sinasabi sa amin. Hindi naman nagpapaalam sa amin. Dyusko, 30 years old na siya, di ba? Siyempre, siya na yung nakakaalam ng feelings niya."
She added, “Sa totoo lang, wala naman kaming magagawa. Kaya lang, dapat mag-isip din siya muna, di ba? Advisers lang naman kami, pero siyempre, hindi pa rin naman hawak kung anong gusto niya."
Gigi Bautista, a family friend of the Soledad’s, also denied reports of an ongoing romantic relationship between Revillame and Soledad.
Bautista said she confirmed the matter with Soledad herself.
Said she to PEP, "I asked her if she was with Willie now, and she said, yes, they were in the studio for ‘Willing Willie.’ I said, 'No, I'm asking if you and Willie are on now, you and Willie, this very moment that we are talking.' And she said, ‘No po!' Tapos tawa siya nang tawa."
Bautista added, "I also asked if it's true she's getting married in the next months to Willie and again she said 'No, po.'"
Although she’s not against the formation of a relationship between the two, Bautista believes Soledad is not yet ready for a new relationship.
"Wala akong sinasabing masama kung sila nga ni Willie, pero hindi sila. Naniniwala ako sa sinabi niya sa YES! [magazine] na kelangan munang mag-rest ang puso niya."
